Feels like I've lived a hundred lifetimes already, some of which have involved being: a single mother; a neurodivergent; a journalist and screenwriter; an artist; a domestic abuse survivor. Of the latter, I've been slowly rebuilding my life after escaping a bad situation. The "slowly" part is not by choice, but in this modern misogynistic hellscape, the last thing the patriarchy wants is for the women it has wounded and marginalized to rise up.
We're at a tipping point. That's why they're coming down harder than ever on us.
They're scared. As well they should be.
In witchcraft, the "maiden, mother, crone" trifecta is well known. The modern world certainly celebrates the maiden phase of our lives - nothing grabs its attention quite like young tits. There are so many brilliant young women whose talents, intelligence, creativity and determination aren't lauded even a fraction as much as the sheer magnificence of their youth.
After the maiden phase comes motherhood - that time in life when you birth something. Anything - doesn't have to be children. Your career, your interests, your art, your passions, your extraordinary adult self - these are all things that women at this stage of life birth into being along with or besides children.
After the "mother" phase comes the crone stage. The patriarchy tries to convince women that this part is about accepting our fading relevance and disappearing quietly into the background. Oh, I see....right at the point when we've accumulated the most wisdom and power?
Nice try, boys.
Personally I'm in the later stages of motherhood (actual as well as metaphorical), pointed in the direction of cronedom. After enduring several decades of some hardcore heinous bullshit (more on that in the blog), I'm chronically pissed off. Have a lot of pent-up mojo that never found an outlet before this.
I'm ready to fuck some shit up.
Am gradually offering jewelry and home decor items for sale. Eventually, I foresee expanding into goth interior design, too.
My overriding intention is to create something infinitely larger. A community. For those of us who are fed up with being marginalized and other'ed by the patriarchy.
Because it's time.
